5 Family Activities in North Conway, NH

  1. Tubing: Mount Cranmore offers two hour sessions for tubing. The hill is the perfect size and is a lot of fun. Whether you go down alone, or as a group: whether you want to go straight or spin like crazy, Cranmore is a great time all around. And of course stop in the Artist Falls Lodge for food and drinks.

  2. Adventure Park: Mount Cranmore also offers the adventure park which again is two hour sessions. In this area, just left of tubing, you can ride a zip line, a giant swing, or coast down the mountain in an individual seat. What we did, which worked great, was two hours here, Artist Lodge to warm up, then two hours tubing.

  3. Ice Castles: The ice castles are about an hour drive but worth a visit if you have never been before. You can walk through but also slide down the different areas. At night is a different experience as the castles are lite up different colors. They also offer hot chocolate and horse and carriage rides as well.

  4. Breweries and Food: North Conway is home to some amazing breweries and restaurants. During our quick stay we hit up Sea Dog Brewery, Tuckerman Brewery, Fire21, and then Barley and Salt for dinner. Sea Dog offered great beers and even better food. The portions were large (for us) and they offered a variety of beers. You can get a light flight or a dark flight. We opted for one of each and they did not disappoint. Tuckerman's Brewery was more of our type of Brewery. Large bar area where you order your beers and you could order a flight of whatever four you want to try. And when there you MUST try the popcorn! It was called Pop Zup and it was delicious. We got the cheddar one and since being home I have ordered the sampler of the different kinds they make. Kolsch was our favorite so we bought a four pack to go and opted for a nice night in. We ordered pizza from Fire 21 pizza to bring back and for the price and the size we could not ask for more. We definitely saved the best for last which was Barley and Salt. From the chicken wings to the tacos everything was amazing! It's no wonder they were featured on Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives. Will definitely be returning there.

  5. Settler's Green Shopping: I mean who does not love to shop. From J.Crew and Michael Kors to Crocs and Candy Stores, Settlers Green has it all. There are also other restaurants and breweries in the shopping center as well. Where we only had a limited amount of time we did not shop much this time.

For our stay we decided to use Home2Suites by Hilton. The hotel is really nice and clean, it looks brand new in areas. We loved the free breakfast included and it was really a nice spread. From eggs and omelets to cereal and oatmeal they had it all. The pool area had plenty of seating and was heated- BONUS. There are also bathrooms in the pool area which are convenient. The room was huge! It had two queen beds and a pull out sleeper. There was more than enough storage, so much we could not fill it all. It also had a refrigerator, sink, microwaves, plates, and utensils which are important when traveling with kids. There are so many hotels to choose from so be sure to research what is the best fit for your family.

Kid Review: The best of the entire weekend was spinning really fast on the tubes. (as stated by my seven year old)
